Andean Condor

The Andean condor is the world’s largest flying bird, with a wingspan of 3.3 m. It can live for up to 70 years. It is found in South America and is the national symbol of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It is a scavenger, feeding on the dead bodies of large animals, such as cattle and deer. It nests on rock ledges in the Andes at elevations of between 3,000 and 5,000 m.
